For 11 years now, I have been running a Birthday contest. Whoever greets me first after MY clock strikes 12:00 midnight on every 18th of March wins a very special prize! Prizes are different each year. I started by giving little surprises to the greeter like candy bars, a bag of chips, prepaid phone credits or a dinner in a restaurant. Once there was a winner who likes to collect bells and chimes so I gave her one. Last year, the winner received a facial spa treatment. I just feel joyful inside to surprise someone who remembers my birthday with a little something.

And for this year, the award for the “annual greet me first” contest goes to… (drum rolls) Helen Tubeo- Laureano, my sister-in-law from Davao City.  She greeted me at around 4:45 am today.

    Had I known, had I known..hehe..but I remembered and was among the firsts to greet you today..(thanks friendster, you did a great job today in sending me an email, to remind me of Ann’s birthday..something you do well..talbog si Facebook.)     if I am noisy about this contest, then it wouldn’t be a surprise hahaha.. and for the record, the prizes are all consumable.. meaning, could only be enjoyed for a period of time.. this way, the previous winner could possibly forget about the contest in the future =)) it works!

    oh well….lo and behold! I make birthday calls! but who wants to wake up at midnight by the way and at 6 am to recieve the call…..hahaha. bitaw uy… and sistuh2, life begins jud.. but feels like I can’t be bothered. Have to find the $$$$ to get that airticket to the birthday roundtable.

    It’s Selene’s bday party on May19th. Helen said she’d be glad to have you around.. so the party sked will fall on the day you are in Davao.. before or after 19th :D
