Ako_buntis

This is how I look now.  Taken just this Saturday, at Duka Bay, Medina.  Yep, my baby’s gonna come out into this wild world anytime soon.  Although I’m scheduled to give birth (planned C-section delivery) on the 21st this month, I have a strong feeling the D day’s coming sooner than that.  My doc was saying the boy’s pretty big but not over sized yet.  His ultrasonic weight is now a whooping 7.7 lbs.  Imagine how bigger can he get once he’s out in the open.  But his size does not surprise me really because it’s in our genes.  I had nephews and nieces who were just as big (or bigger) when they were delivered.  My only problem now is he’s too heavy and I’m having difficulty moving around.  I don’t know what position to take just to get some sleep.  I can’t get out of the bed without having Jeedo helping me up.  And I can’t sit too long, I can’t stand too long… (in fact, right now, I think I have to stand up and move away from the computer)  He’s descended down to my pelvic floor I guess and I can almost feel his head rolling sideways.  I can feel his limbs, elbows, knees… he’s a real baby now just waiting to see the world.

I’m excited with the second (and hopefully the last) baby.  I think you can see that.   After my pre-eclampsia episode with the first one, Ea, I believe I know better this time.  I have managed my diet, my routines, my work and all seems to fall into place and am ready to give birth any time.  Or maybe not?  Feeling lang.. hahaha

But am counting the days excitedly.  Sometimes though, when I look at Ea, I feel like I made her an “Ate” too soon.   She’s still a baby herself and is always looking for mum’s coddle and hugs and kisses.. Ea’s my first love and will always be a baby to me.  I hope she’d feel that.  Please pray for my safe delivery.  For the baby’s health and mine.

Ea's Birthday

My little Ea turned 1 last friday.  The party was short, simple but fun and heartwarming.  Jeedo and I were joined by our family and close friends from SMSI and WCG.  The program was planned to start at 4PM but because of the rainy weather, most of the guests didn’t get there on time.  I didn’t want to start the whole thing without the ‘witnesses’ so we opted to wait a little longer until almost everyone was there.  We started around 5:30PM with the dedication ceremony officiated by Pastor Jerome.  We had candles lit to symbolize Jesus as the light upon Ea’s path with the parents, ninongs and ninangs guiding the little one along the way.  A sumptuous dinner followed after.  The food was yum.  We had a bit of extra dishes even after everyone had their fill.  The highlights of the event other than the dedication was the Triv-Ea game which I bet everyone had fun guessing and learning facts about Ea and of course Ea’s smiles and laughters that surprised all of those who haven’t seen her showing it.

My family from Davao came over and stayed in the same resort.  My manang Grace also ‘graced’ the event.  She took a flight from manila to davao and drove with the peeps to here.  It was so nice of them to come over considering they had to travel seven long hours by bus.   We had a great time chatting by the pool, we cooked, ate and did a lot of catching ups.  They all went home early this morning.

It feels amazing inside to realize how much Ea has grown over 12 months.  My baby is still a baby but Ea never ceases to surprise me with her new discoveries.  I’m sure a lot more of her antics will unfold in the next coming days, weeks, months and years.

It's raining… oh, man!

I dragged myself to get up this morning because I had to wash Ea’s bottom.  It was raining and I feel like snuggling a bit more under my hubby’s arm.  But my daughter just can’t wait any longer.  I was groggy as I searched for her clean nappy and clothes on the other room when I felt some water sprinkling on my arms, then on my face… when I looked up, I saw the ceiling dripping wet.  When I looked around the room, there’s water all over our things.  Now that woke me up. I rushed to get Jeedo.  Ea didn’t want to be put down, probably because she sensed something was wrong.. so I had to carry her around while we were trying to get everything out of the puddle.

Because our rented house was rather cute, we had to place many of our stuffs in boxes and stacked them in one corner until we move out to our own house.  Wedding and Christmas gift items (still unused, mostly), suitcases, archives of old files, books, clothes, electrical appliances… are all in that corner and were all soaked wet because of rain (over the broken ceiling).  The rain was also coming in through the windows and screen doors.  We spotted quite a number of broken areas where the water was leaking and coming in.  I went to our backyard to make a canal for the water to flow through and not pool by the kitchen doorstep.   Although Jeedo and I made some remedy, we can only hope the rain would stop.   There was a city-wide black out, no Internet and no water from the tap either.  Waaaa.. what a crazy day in a messy house.

Instead of waiting until after my delivery to move out, we might as well transfer as soon as possible.  The home developer agent said our house construction will be completed by end of January and will be ready to welcome us in by Feb.  Can’t wait.
