The Day I'll Bet My Life

Again.

Giving birth is a wonderful moment only mothers can experience. To some, it’s fulfilling. To others, it’s scary. To most, it’s both. To me, it’s like betting my life against the unknown just to bring out another beautiful life into this world. It’s a miracle unfolding before my very eyes.

In three more days, I’ll be experiencing this amazing miracle for the 2nd time. I’m scared yet excited. I know God is with me, I know He is always. But going under the knife again is such a scary thought. I’ve packed all that I’ll be needing in the hospital. From clean sheets to socks. From towels to baby booties. I should be ready. But am I? I feel like screaming inside. When I had Ea, I didn’t have the chance to feel any of these. I didn’t have the time to prepare for what was going to happen. It was like a surprise that came out too soon.

Whew. Breathing in and breathing out. Kaya ko toh!

“Happy birthday to me” na lang ko. It’s a silent day, decided not to any handaan because I feel like I need some more rest. Maybe after the bub comes out, there’s going to be a double celebration. We’ll see.

By the way, congrats to Bingkai! for winning my annual “Greet me first” contest. The game I’ve been running for like 10 years now. She greeted me through YM at 12:03 today. She’ll have her prize when I get to Davao this May.

Haloi deetsie! This is very late comment because I was so busy then but since you made it the first time with EA unprepared, I know you can do it great with Jethro and you really did and everything was prepared! Grrrr… it scares me most to see a friend going under the knife. Knife, cuts like a knife… yaicks takot ako niyan… but you are one brave mother Deetsie! Bow!
